Things I've built
A selection of engineering projects — design, fabrication, and analysis.
SCARA 2D Robotic Arm
A 2-DOF SCARA arm built end-to-end: SolidWorks CAD imported into a Simscape Multibody model, closed-loop PID control driven by hand-derived forward/inverse kinematics, and live parameter tuning on real hardware over serial. Traces circle, rectangle, and heart trajectories, surfacing real path-planning issues like singularities and corner overshoot along the way.
hammerHead — Maze Solving Robot
Autonomous robot that solves an unknown line maze. A PID loop keeps it centred on the line while a decision layer above resolves junctions by the left-hand rule, U-turns out of dead ends, and confirms the finish before stopping. Arduino Nano, 5-channel IR array, TB6612FNG driver, N20 gear motors.
Shell Eco-marathon Prototype BEV — Structural Analysis
Static structural analysis of Team Shireto's aluminium Prototype BEV frame for Shell Eco-marathon Asia 2021, Nepal's first electric entry in the competition. As technical team lead, I turned the rulebook into ANSYS load cases (700 N roll bar vertical and side loads, a safety harness lift with the driver aboard, and a 1G + 3G driver bump) and showed every case stayed elastic before the car passed Virtual Technical Inspection.
Aero Portfolio
Four aerospace projects from my undergraduate years at Thapathali Campus, Nepal: a glass-fibre composite monocoque fuselage for a 3 m wingspan RC aircraft, laid up from a 3D-printed mold core; a Pixhawk quadcopter flying GPS-based autonomous missions; my final-year autonomous fixed-wing UAS for wildlife patrols, designed for stability in XFLR5 and flown 20+ times; and the Boeing Aeromodelling Competition at IIT Bombay, top 20 as a competitor in 2019 and 4th as a mentor in 2023.
